The Monroe County Municipal Waste Management Authority is the lead agency responsible for implementing the Municipal Waste Planning, Recycling, and Waste Reduction Act, known as Act 101. This is accomplished by providing for the planning, processing, transportation, storage, and disposal of municipal waste. The Authority is required to provide and submit on behalf of the County of Monroe a 10-year plan for a system of waste management.
